Introduction

EPIC and LIANZA have collaborated to train up a network of skilled Trainers who are available to train colleagues both in their own organisation and in organisation(s) within their local regional areas.

Trainers, from a range of library sectors across NZ, are available to provide training in online skills. Their libraries are willing to release them to provide training in other libraries.

How to Arrange Training for your Library:

1) Read the EPIC LIANZA Training Initiative Guidelines. They are designed to support libraries and trainers to get the best out of the training.

• The training is a collaborative initiative and relies on libraries sharing their time and expertise.
• The success of the training relies on the spirit of co-operation and sharing skills, knowledge and experiences.
• All costs are arranged between your library and the trainer's library.
• Preference is for EPIC member libraries. However, trainers' libraries can provide training to schools and/or non-EPIC member libraries at their discretion.
• Training is only within the scope of the ELTI training content.

2) Select and contact one of the trainers on the ELTI Trainers’ list

The contact information should include:

• Name of your library
• Your name and contact details (as the main contact person)
• Number of staff requiring training and your expectations for the content and level of training. 
• Details of computing facilities (for the hands-on training).
• Suggested dates and times for training
• What costs you are able to cover (refer to the Costs section of the Guidelines)

3) The Trainer will then approach their manager for permission and will respond to you with their availability within three working days.

4) Once the dates and details have been confirmed the trainer will then assess the needs of library staff and will define the training to best fit.

5) After the training has been completed you will be sent a survey form by EPIC. The results will be used for the overall evaluation of the initiative.

The EPIC Team is available to provide advice, issue resolution and coordination support for all parties involved.
