EPIC standing notice for additional contracted suppliers

16 August 2017

You may remember an email update that I sent out last year about the RFP (request for proposal) process for a panel of contracted suppliers that EPIC was required to undertake in order to comply with the New Zealand Government Rules of Sourcing. (Government organisations are required to undertake a full, open procurement process for all goods and services that meet or exceed the value threshold of $100,000.)

The RFP process resulted in a panel of 24 contracted suppliers that EPIC is able to licence content from in order to sub-licence to our member organisations. The panel was established for one year (beginning 1 April 2017) with four additional rights of renewal.

To provide an opportunity for additional suppliers to join the panel, EPIC will be releasing a standing notice through GETS (Government Electronic Tenders Service) for additional suppliers. The standing notice will advertise that proposals from suppliers to join the panel will be sought annually during a regular window of August – September for potential inclusion for the next subscription year beginning 1 April.

The standing notice is scheduled to be released through GETS on Monday 21 August. Suppliers will be able to submit an RFP response (with a deadline of 15 September 2017) to join the panel for the first renewal period - 1 April 2018 – 31 March 2019.

If you have a current e-resource supplier that you think may be interested in providing consortium options through EPIC, I would very much appreciate that you let them know about the upcoming opportunity to join the EPIC panel and encourage them to register with GETS to receive the tender information. If they would like more information about EPIC prior to the release of the RFP, please do encourage them to contact me at paula.banks@dia.govt.nz or (04) 474 3058.
