Haere Mai, Welcome to EPIC.

Upcoming EPIC RFP for additional suppliers

28 August 2018

As EPIC is managed through the National Library of New Zealand (Department of Internal Affairs), it means that it is subject to the New Zealand Government Rules of Sourcing which require a full, open procurement process for all goods and services that meet or exceed the value threshold of $100,000 (excluding GST). To adhere to the rules, EPIC has a panel of contracted suppliers in place - initially established through a full RFP process in 2016. The panel was established for one year (beginning 1 April 2017) with four additional rights of renewal. (To view a full list of current suppliers, refer to the EPIC Vendors  list on the EPIC website home page).

To provide an opportunity for additional suppliers to join the panel, EPIC releases an annual RFP through GETS (Government Electronic Tenders Service)  for additional suppliers to join the panel for the remainder of the panel renewal periods.

The RFP to join the panel for the period - 1 April 2019 – 31 March 2020 (with two additional rights of renewal) is scheduled to be released through GETS on either Thursday or Friday of this week.
If you have a current e-resource supplier that you think may be interested in providing consortium options through EPIC, I would very much appreciate that you let them know about the upcoming opportunity to join the EPIC panel and encourage them to register with GETS to receive the tender information.
In addition to this, I am about to start the contract renewal process with the current members of the EPIC panel of suppliers, so if you have any additional subscription options that you would like to suggest for current EPIC suppliers to add as consortium options through EPIC for 2019, please feel free to email me through your suggestions to pass on to the applicable supplier/s for consideration.
